1. Booking and Reservation
To secure a skip, you must provide accurate and complete information during the booking process. We reserve the right to cancel reservations if information provided is deemed unreliable or misleading.
1.1 Booking Confirmation
Upon successful booking, you will receive a confirmation via email or phone. This confirmation will include the skip size, rental period, and total cost.
1.2 Changes to Booking
Cancellations or modifications to your booking must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Late changes may incur additional fees.
2. Payment Terms
Payments must be made in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed upon. We accept various payment methods, including credit cards and bank transfers.

All prices are quoted in GBP and include VAT unless stated otherwise.
3. Rental Period
The standard rental period is 7 days. Extensions can be requested up to 14 days, subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
3.1 Late Returns
If the skip is not returned by the agreed date, a late fee will be charged for each additional day.
4. Usage Guidelines
Skip Hire Downham provides skips for the disposal of non-hazardous waste only. By hiring a skip, you agree to the following:
- Only acceptable waste is placed in the skip.
- No prohibited items such as asbestos, chemicals, or liquids.
- The skip is used solely for its intended purpose.
4.1 Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in our skips:
- Asbestos-containing materials
- Paints and solvents
- Electrical appliances
- Vehicles and large machinery
5. Liability and Insurance
Skip Hire Downham is not liable for any damage caused by the skip once it has been delivered to the designated location. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the skip is placed safely and does not obstruct public pathways.
5.1 Insurance Coverage
We carry insurance for accidental damage during transportation. However, accidental damage caused by improper use is not covered.
6. Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection of the skip will be scheduled at mutually agreed times. Customers must ensure that there is clear access to the delivery and collection points.
6.1 Access Requirements
Customers must provide adequate space for the skip, ensuring that there are no obstructions or hazards that could impede delivery or collection.
7. Responsibility for Contents
Customers are solely responsible for the contents of the skip. Skip Hire Downham is not liable for any legal issues arising from the disposal of prohibited or illegal items.
7.1 Waste Disposal
All waste must be disposed of in compliance with local regulations. Customers must retain proof of proper disposal if required by law.
8. Termination of Service
We reserve the right to terminate the service without notice if our terms are violated. In such cases, fees paid up to the date of termination are non-refundable.
8.1 Breach of Terms
A breach of any terms and conditions may result in immediate termination of the service and potential legal action.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
9.1 Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage informal negotiations to resolve the matter amicably before seeking legal recourse.
10. Amendments to Terms
Skip Hire Downham reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to customers via email or our website.

11. Severability
